Earlier this year we began offering for sale the print which we’d had designed for shop display. This was a laser printed poster of artwork done for us by our designer Anders Arhøj and was offered for sale by popular request.
A little later on we decided that if people were interested in putting a HELT print on display in their home, then this should be something of really great quality, something extra-special just like our honey.
We took a little time to learn about paper and inks and printing techniques, and how we might take something good and turn it into something great, something of fabulous quality that would so justice to the artwork.
Giclée fine art prints are the most beautiful and accurate art reproductions that have ever been made. Giclée is a french word which means “to spatter out”, a term that refers to the way ink is applied to paper by a special large-format, ultra-high-resolution 12-color ink-jet printer.
The German paper company Hahnemühle has been making the finest quality paper for over four hundred years.
So we decided to use giclée printing, and we decided to use Hahnemühle paper. These are expensive options, but the quality speaks for itself. This marriage – craftsman paper tradition with cutting edge printing technology – has given us a child of remarkable beauty.
A small number of these giclée prints are now available in the webshop.
